The books in the book lists below contain romance, life-threatening suspense, and a puzzle or mystery. This is our definition of a “gothic romance novel.” Those novels that are designated “(gothic)” have classic gothic romance plots and settings. Such novels, for example, are usually set in a large mansion, the heroine is drawn to one or more love interests, she does not know whom to trust, she experiences threats on her life, and there is some puzzle/mystery to solve that greatly affects the outcome of the story.

If you buy the books directly from Amazon.com (not through our website or our Amazon webstore), Amazon gets to keep the commission. You support our efforts on behalf of the books and authors in our genres when you access Amazon.com via this website to make any purchase.
Note: The changing nature of book publishing and the wide variety of formats emerging have precipitated the re-release of many older titles in new formats. Therefore, in November 2009 we discontinued listing upcoming titles by month on this website. Instead, we continued to recommend and comment upon upcoming titles via the home page on Gothic Journal’s Amazon.com bookstore. Unfortunately, that bookstore option was discontinued by Amazon in 2018.
